The nearest subway station is Ochanomizu off of either the Chūō or Sobu lines. Ochanomizu (御茶ノ水) is a neighborhood in Tokyo that extends from the Yushima section of Bunkyo-ku to the Kanda section of Chiyoda-ku. The name literally means “tea water” after the nearby Kanda River. It’s hard to believe now, but back in the Edo period, the water from this river was so clean they used to extract it to make the shogun’s tea. Ochanomizu is home to several universities including Meiji University, Tokyo Medical and Dental University, and Juntendo University, conveniently located for any technology transfer negotiations! The area is well-known for its many musical instrument shops and ski and snowboard outlets as well.
Ochanomizu Station (both JR and Marunouchi lines) is convenient to access some of the area’s tourist spots like the Confucious Hall of Yushima as well as the Yushima and Kanda Shrines.
