USPTO and JPO Begin Collaborative Search Pilot Program (CSP)

Starting from August 1, 2015, a pilot program is available to applicants who wish to benefit from streamlined sharing of search results between the United States Patent and Trademark Office and the Japan Patent Office, for approved U.S. and Japanese patent applications for a single invention.

The applicant will need to have petitions (no USPTO fee is necessary) filed with both the USPTO and the JPO in proper order, after the corresponding applications are properly filed in both countries. Please contact Keisen Associates if you would like to file a petition with the JPO and take strategic advantage of the USPTO-JPO CSP for your invention.

For details including requirements, see the USPTO’s announcement and the release from Japan’s Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry. (Picture credit: USPTO)
